My Pregnancy Weight
With celebrity mums stick-thin only weeks (or even days) after giving birth, we asked real mums how they shaped up without the luxury of a personal trainer, celebrity chef, £10,000 of liposuction…
It has taken me over 18 months to get back to my normal weight and I wasn’t following any diets! Actually, I think I am still heavier then I was pre-pregnancy but am back in my old clothes. What I used to do, when my daughter was very little, was put her in her buggy at naptime and walk with headphones in, listening to music, once or twice a day for 20 minutes. Gradually I got back into exercising twice a week! - Rachel

I only put on 3 stone when I was pregnant. Once my baby was born I went for long walks twice a day, I would be out 1-2 hours each time with the pram. And when you have been shopping, that’s some extra weight to push round.
I thought breast feeding would make the weight drop off! But it didn’t. I craved carbs all the time. Bread, rice, pasta, cakes, sweets, didnt matter as long as they had plenty of carbs. Weird! Anyway, I am losing weight steadily now with Slim Bomb. Delivered quickly, got the twin pack as it’s better value. Will keep you updated but so far I have lost 1 stone and 5 lbs and only put 1 pound on over the Christmas and New Year.
I was never weighed during my pregnacy so I’m not entirely sure how much weight I put on. I do know however that before moving tin July 2007 I was around 80-85kg and when I went for my Depo after my twins were born in June 2008 I was 100kg!! I went to a “slimming club” LL and weighed in at 16st 1lb. I am now in the 14st range. I want to lose more but I found LL too hard to commit too with the twins only being 1 etc. So I am trying to just eat less and more senisbly. I’ve also decided to finish up all my “diet foods” like diet soups and slim fast shakes. I am much happiers now that I’ve lost 2st but I want to lose more, mainly to be healthy. I’ve been going to the gym and have even starting jogging some by the river.
i got rid of my baby belly by breastfeeding. the weight dropped off me but i also tried to eat heathily along with that.
anyone got any pros and cons with regards to breast feeding and losing weight? I am 6 months pregnant and not sure what to do when my baby comes along.
i have tried every thing ad still cant get away the baby belly have anyone got any tips
I never actually liked the idea of breast feeding but i did want my daughter to have the best so I expressed my milk for her. Turns out this was best for me too as the weight just dropped off. I wasnt trying to lose anything as i didnt put much on during pregnancy but in the 4 months i kept up with expressing i dropped 2 dress sizes.
Yep that Breastfeeding is what do it!, Some people can’t Breast feed right? Yeah, I know ! Well in life we got to have pain to get the gain you can’t go on eating like before and you must exercise SORRY.. So I guess that’s the way it goes..And for the ladies who are not losing the weight even if your doing your “Clean Eating” and Exercise give the body time, time, time you just gave birth your body is going through it’s healing and stuff so just keep on pushing my logo once again ” NO PAIN NO GAIN
I breastfed my son and walked every where watched what i ate to a point, i would just stop to think if i would feed it to my son, if the answer was NO i would not eat it, lost all the weight in 6 weeks, then i went back to work, stopped brestfeeding and did not care what i ate because it was no longer going back in to my son in my milk, and i now weight more then when i was 9 1/2 months preg.(he was 2 weeks late)
iam so desperate to lose my baby weight , even while pregnant in my last stage i wasnt this big. i did beastfeed and i had hoped that it would help. iam a size 16 now and i desperately want to be a 12. i have tried exercies and low fat , but it’s just not moving. so i thought i would cheat and try some diet pills.what can a chubby girl do!
Im almost 3 months pregnant with my second child, and im looking ahead im 5 ft 3 and weight is 11stone 7lb at this moment. this is same weight as i was before pregnant. Im now size 14! comfortablely. Im guessing ill put on 2 stone fully pregnant . Im going to breast feed so i pray it will help shift them unwanted stones!!! Will i lose 3 stone in 4 months breast feeding low fat diet and exercise.!!!! HELP.
I have never reached my pre-pregnancy weight and no matter what I do I dont think I ever will, so I was pleased to find hourglass toner tights from Aristoc. I wear them on special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas parties as they reduce my waistline by 2 inches. So when I’m in my tights I look slimmer than I ever was! They are a god send!! Truly amazing!
well, just breast feeding ges rid of a huge amount of weight by itsself but pushing pushchairs around whereever you go helps too.
I’d gone up to a size 16 after having my son and then got back down to my size 14 within about six months. At the moment, I am following Slimming World (which is just sensible eating) but can’t make the meetings as I haven’t enough time. However, I am now down to size 12 and aiming for another stone to get me to a smaller 12 or size 10, which I was about four years ago.
I put on 2 stone when pregnant with JJ, I lost one stone really quickly within a couple of months, probably due to breastfeeding. Once I stopped breastfeeding I started exercising and also went onto the GI diet, and found the rest of the weight came off quite easily!
You know what the best way to lose those baby pounds is? Just by eating low-fat healthy foods. I gained 3 stone the first time and 5 stone with my second pregnancy but lost all the weight within a few months just by eating sensibly and not cheating. The best diet is will power AND low-fat foods. There are many foods out there that are very low in fat to give you a variety of meals and then the pounds will drop off. This has worked for me every time and keeps me in a size 10-12.
Breastfeeding every hour or two, with around 5 hours sleep! I’ve also been going on 1-2 hour walks every day. Not been too careful with food, have chocolate most days, but eating loads of good, wholesome home-cooked meals since she was born. Put on around three stone while i was pregnant, got about ten pounds to go to pre-pregnancy weight.
As well as walking Jimmy every day I took the cheaters way out and used herbal slimming pills to lose my baby weight. To be honest, i couldn’t be bothered to prepare healthy foods, count calories or go to a slimming club each week – i just popped a pill. I’ve shifted 3 out of the 4 stones i gained while pregnant.
Breatfeeding, breastfeeding and more breastfeeding – it’s amazing how the weight dropped off without doing anything! Oh, and brisk walks up hills with the pushchair. And not having time to eat properly.
I lost weight after i had my daughter by going to Scottish Slimmers and aerobics. But i personally feel that SS has had the opposite effect on me as it has made me more conscious of food, but that’s a whole other story… i haven’t lost anything since having my son, in fact i’ve gained, but i feel better than i ever have in myself.
My story is pretty simple, i just breastfed and the pounds fell off. I gained 50 pounds with both pregnancies and i didn’t do anything in particular to lose it. I eat pretty well anyway and i do regular exercise (i don’t go to a gym or anything). Guinivere is 14 months (almost) and i was back to a size 10 when she was about 6-8 months. Breastfeeding is the best (for you and the baby). I am convinced this is what made me lose the ‘baby weight’ so quickly.
