Egg Diet

The basis of this diet is chemical, not quantities. It claims you can lose a stone in a week if followed exactly. Do not follow this diet for more than a week at a time.

Allowed drinks: Black coffee, black tea, lemon tea, grapefruit juice, tonic water, soda water and tap water (unlimited amounts).

Salad consists of: Lettuce, tomato and celery only.

Day 1

Breakfast:         1 slice of dry toast and grilled tomatoes
Lunch:                Any amount of fresh fruit
Dinner:               2 hard boiled eggs, salad and grapefruit

Day 2

Breakfast:         Grapefruit and 1 boiled egg
Lunch:                Roast chicken (any amount) and tomatoes
Dinner:               Grilled steak and salad

Day 3

Breakfast:         Grapefruit and 1 boiled egg
Lunch:                2 hard boiled eggs and salad
Dinner:              2 grilled lamb chops, celery and cucumber

Day 4

Breakfast:         1 slice of dry toast and 2 poached eggs
Lunch:                Any amount of fresh fruit
Dinner:               2 grilled lamb chops, celery and cucumber

Day 5

Breakfast:        1 slice of dry toast and 2 poached eggs
Lunch:               2 poached eggs and tomatoes
Dinner:              Fresh or tinned fish and salad

Day 6

Breakfast:        1 boiled egg and 1 glass of grapefruit juice
Lunch:               Any amount of fresh fruit
Dinner:             Roast chicken, carrots and cabbage

Day 7

Breakfast:       2 scrambled eggs and tomatoes
Lunch:              2 poached eggs and spinach
Dinner:            Grilled steak and salad

Special notes:

  • Refrain from all foods not included above
  • No substitutes allowed
  • Eat only what is shown or do without
  • No eating between meals
  • No alcoholic drinks, milk, butter, oil or fat

    Hi , i am about to start day 3 , i got on the scales this morning and have not lost a pound !!! I am being so strict , i cannot understand why no weight loss …. Any suggestions please ? Feeling very frustrated

    Hi Claire. I found i still lost weight having fish instead of the red meat which i did not have at home. Do share how your diet is going .thanks

    I don’t think so. sausages have a lot of fat , even the low fat ones and things like breadcrumbs are added to them.

    Hi. I am on day 4 and this morning I had lost 5lbs already. I have not had the steak or lamb chops as i didn’t have any in the fridge.As a substitute, I just had one and a half smoked mackerel fillets grilled. I squeezed some grapefruit juice on the salad and it tasted great. I have managed to jog first thing in the morning on 3 out of the 4 days that Ive been on this diet. Ive just had the day 4 lunch of fresh fruit and that was amazing, banana never tasted so good. I will give an update after day 7. keep drinking cold water … makes this diet easy. You can do it!!

    Hi, im starting this diet today and wondered if anyone had any tips. I can see above that on day 3 and 4 you are to have lamb chops, is this correct? On another page I seen that you dont have the same dinner twice in a row. Thanks x
