Limit processed food to lose weight for wedding

Women tying the knot this summer can lose weight for their wedding by limiting processed foods, refined carbohydrates and sugar, a nutrition expert has claimed.

Nutritionist Anita Ellis told Kristoph Thompson at Women’s Fitness magazine that brides-to-be should also opt for wholegrain cereals and high-fibre foods.

The expert advised avoiding all alcohol and sugar, as these cause dehydration, which can lead to dry, flaky skin and dark circles under the eyes.

"To promote healthy skin and glowing eyes, drink plenty of water and up your vitamin A and E intake by eating lots of kale, carrots, spinach, broccoli, asparagus and celery," Mr Thompson wrote.

In terms of pre-wedding exercise, Mr Thompson advised women to do four or five cardio sessions a week to achieve weight loss and as many Pilates classes as possible to improve muscle tone.

Earlier this month, a survey conducted by SlimFast found that female wedding guests lose an average of three pounds before attending their friend or family member’s big day.

Do you think you’d be able to stick to Anita Ellis and Kristoph Thompson’s advice?ADNFCR-2965-ID-19889336-ADNFCR

It’s hard to cut out all “junk” food, if you tell yourself that your not allowed to eat certain things then that would make you lust after them even more! I say allow yourself the odd treat

  2. Julie says:

I agree with this totally. If you want to lose weight for your big day then its very important to cut out all that stuff.

I AGREE TOO. WHEN I GET MARRIED I WILL BE DOING ANYTHING POSSIBLE TO ENSURE I LOOK MY BEST ON THAT SPECIAL DAY. I COULD JUST EAT THAT BURGER RIGHT NOW!

  5. Lorie says:

I would definately be able to stick to this – every girl wants to look there best for a there own wedding or as a guest to a wedding, I think all girls out there will agree.

I totally agree with the cutting out processed foods, however, cardio 4 or 5 times a week is a bit much when you work full time!! At the most I do cardio twice a week but then I do all the running around after the kids.

Yes, and I think it’s really sensible advice too. That burger looks delicious though…
