Since she burst onto the scene in 1994 in Friends, Jennifer Aniston has possessed one of the most enviable figures in Hollywood, and one of the secrets behind her svelte shape has finally been revealed – a super smoothie.
According to an insider speaking to Grazia magazine, Jen spends one day each week drinking nothing but the smoothie, the ingredients for which cost £5 to buy.
“The drink is made up of fresh, organic vegetables. Beetroot, cucumbers, spinach, garlic, carrots, celery and kale,” the source told the magazine.
The insider added that Saturday is usually when the actress has her smoothie-only day, while a combination of frequent trips to the gym keeps her in tip-top shape.
When quizzed about the possible health benefits of the smoothie, nutritionist Jeannette Jackson told the Daily Mail that the vegetables can prevent bloating, help ease water retention and even reduce mood swings.
“Beetroot helps clean the blood of toxins, celery and carrots boost potassium and sodium levels, and kale and parsley offer immense benefits to the brain, so you’ll feel less stressed,” she added.
However, Ms Jackson told the newspaper that people should make sure it is part of a healthy, balanced diet to ensure they are getting all their vital nutrients.
